synoptique - an online journal of film and moving image studies

Synoptique: An Online Journal of Film and Moving Image Studies is a double-blind peer-review, open access journal, published twice annually. Each issue is structured around a different theme dedicated to film and moving images, with a specific emphasis upon interdisciplinary, transnational, and emerging theoretical approaches to moving image practices and cultures. Past issues have addressed a variety of themes, including film history, visual cultures, feminist and queer media practice, circulatory networks, aesthetics, national and transnational cinemas, media technologies, politics of representation, and film theory. Synoptique is proud to publish in both French and English.
